The Franklin County Greenways Program of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is seeking entries for the program's second annual photography contest designed to kickoff Riverfest in May 2003. The Franklin County Greenways Program is a multi-jurisdictional environmental planning and action effort to improve water quality and preserve and protect stream corridors in central Ohio.

The contest is open to youth, adult amateur and adult professional photographers. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each category. Pictures must feature one or more of central Ohio's streams, rivers and watersheds. Pictures may reflect the beauty, importance and/or destruction of the region's waterways. The pictures may be from any season of the year.

Entries are due by 12 noon on April 21, 2003, at MORPC, 285 East Main Street in downtown Columbus. Entry forms and contest rules are available at MORPC, on MORPC's website at www.morpc.org or by contacting Andrea Gorzitze at 614-233-4124 or agorzitze@morpc.org. The 60 best entries will be exhibited at MORPC in its Art in the Halls gallery space from May 6, 2003, through June 27, 2003. A reception and award ceremony for contest participants will be held from 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. on Friday May 16, 2003 at MORPC.
